The 2017 market for significant works by Blake began with two of his watercolor illustrations for Robert Blair’s The Grave at Sotheby’s New York auction on 25 January. The vendor was probably Libby Howie acting for Marburg Ltd., as in the 2006 Sotheby’s auction offering nineteen Grave watercolors. These two failed to find buyers in 2006.
